Right in time for the New Year, Horner APG Canada is pleased to announce the launch of its largest, most powerful all-in-one controller ever. The ZX series contains advanced control capabilities, high-resolution graphics, and plenty of connectivity options. Both advanced ladder logic and full IEC language sets are supported. For advanced ladder, the ZX is the first OCS to feature online programming - where logic changes can be made "on-the-fly" without stopping or pausing the logic scan. The ZX is also one of the fastest controllers available on the market with 4x the logic and register memory. And the OCS has never been lacking in I/O support - with the ability to drive up over 5,000 I/O points.

Three ZX screen sizes are offered. The 22" HD (1920 x 1080) model (ZX1152) is the largest all-in-one controller ever made. The 15" (ZX752) is a more traditional XGA (1024 x 768) touch screen. And the 7" (ZX452), wide-VGA model (800 x 480) produces over 800 nits of brightness. All units are UL approved.

With the release of our newest product line, the XL4 series, comes the release of our latest version of Cscape Software. CsCape Version 9.30 is a new release offering a variety of product improvements, including:

• Support for logic module re-ordering.
• Support for IEC language translation.
• Support for scrolling in the graphics editor. Allows panning around larger screens to see detail while zoomed.

This update, as well as all others, are also offered quarterly to anyone who signs up for our newsletter online. The Fiber Optic Expansion (FOX) system provides expanded SmartStack I/O support OCS. It is also the primary means for QVGA and SVGA Color-Touch OCS to support SmartStack. All QVGA and SVGA Color-Touch OCS models include a 2m fiber cable pair to support a single base. SmartStack™ FOX supports a variety of architectures, offering greater flexibility in I/O layout. These include Star, Daisy-chain, or Combination. Each SmartStack™ FOX cable segment can be up to 10m in length, with no Base/Hub located more than three segments (3x10m) from the OCS.

The RX371 OCS provides flexible options allowing you to choose the functionality you need. The RX Ruggedized Color - Touch OCS comes with a microSD slot, CsCAN, USB mini-B (programming) and USB-A, full on-board Ethernet and two RS232/RS485 serial ports. Logic capability includes 256K, 0.2ms/K scan rate, and 32Kb registers. Each unit is a highly integrated operator interface and controller with expandable I/O and networking capabilities have standard features consisting of the following:

• Metal enclosure with aluminum front and steel back cover.
• Bright, 32000 Color graphical Touch sensing LCD display.
• Domed keypad with magnetic contact.
• Plastic touch screen that is thicker and more damage resistant.
• Display of complex graphical objects including trends, gauges, meters and animations.

Cscape™ EnvisionRV (Remote View) is a low-cost, powerful Windows® based software application that will allows you to view and access remote Horner OCS controllers via a personal computer. With EnvisionRV Version 3.0 you can design high resolution screens for any OCS controller (design larger screens than the OCS displays up to 1920 x 1200 pixels) in Cscape™ 9.10 and later and display them on the PC. You can connect to any OCS controller for the data…even a display-less RCS unit! Graphical objects look and behave the same on the PC as they do on the OCS. This feature reduces training costs and can significantly speed up your implementations. Pricing includes one PC locked copy on a USB Flash drive.

Powerful All-In-One Controller with Vibrant Color Graphics, Embedded Ethernet, and Snap-on I/O

The QX Color-Touch OCS (Operator Control Station) series features a fast, powerful logic engine, SVGA resolution touchscreens and optional snap-on I/O. OCS is a robust, reliable control product that combines a traditional controller, programmed in ladder logic, operator interface, I/O and networking into an integrated, all-in-one unit using a single software package.

The QX Series Color-Touch OCS Units are all-in-one controllers with modularity. All units feature an integrated operator interface and control engine, with multiple serial ports, built-in ethernet, and removable mass storage. The 5.7" QX351 and 15" QX751 also include USB mini-B and USB A as standard. The 5.7" QX351 has support for up to two SmartStack I/O modules and CsCAN networking built-in. QX units 8.4" and larger require an optional BackPack unit to add SmartStack and CsCAN capability - and these larger units also support optional video interface units  for NTSC video input or RGB video output.

Cscape with Symbols Library on Flash Drive

The library of 4,000+ symbols is completely integrated with Cscape 8.0 and later. Whenever you want to edit a screen with a new symbol, you’ll be selecting and placing either a bitmap object or animated bitmap object. An option will appear in the dialog box to “Select Symbol.” From there it’s a simple process of browsing the 64 available categories, and scrolling down to find the symbol you want to use. Once inserted, the symbol can be moved and/or scaled like any other bitmap object

The SmartRail I/O System is Horner’s newest I/O offering.  SmartRail is compact – but highly expandable and scalable.  You can choose from these three options: an Ethernet Base with a built-in two port switch, CsCAN or Profibus DP.  This allows it to work great with all-in-one (OCS), or even with third party controllers.  Each base can hold up to 8 I/O modules, for a total of up to 256 digital and 32 analog points.  Now just daisy-chain as many additional bases that are needed to complete the application – up to a total of 2048 digital and 512 analog I/O.  Software configuration is a snap as well – just plug-and-play using Cscape.

Digital I/O is available in 8, 16, and 32 point modules – with DC (in and out) and Relay options. For the 32 point modules – SmartLink Wiring Accessories make the multitude of terminations neat and compact. Analog I/O selection is extensive – with modules for 0-10V, 4-20mA, Thermocouples, and RTDs.  These are offered as 4 channel Input only, Input/Output, and Output only models.
